Paul Loren

Producer, Engineer

Paul started making records as a small child, recording his self-penned love songs directly to a 2-channel karaoke machine, enamored for hours after-school by the sound of its spring echo.

His career as both recordist and artist has been shaped by the classic rock 'n roll records he grew up listening to and admiring. He loves recording live-to-tape and believes that the song and performance is at the heart of it all.

Paul’s many production credits include work for Matt Sucich, Rebecca Haviland & Whiskey Heart, Turner Cody, Elizabeth Ziman, Zach Jones & The Tricky Bits, The Well-Informed and himself. His work both as producer and artist has been featured extensively in film, TV and radio.

Realtone Ranch is the summation of Paul’s many years of recording, playing and is inspired by his unique spatial aesthetic.

Evan Duby

Consulting Partner

Evan’s multi-pronged career in finance and real estate has always been grounded in his love of music. An early passion for guitar and great pop songs led him to writing his own, releasing music under his name and ultimately meeting Paul in the process.

Together, they forged a production partnership in the mid-aughts with their Brooklyn-based band ‘The Well-Informed’ and in 2009 began self-recording their own music in the cold loft space of a 19th century paint factory. That led to a deeper dive into production, the founding of Five & Dime Records and the purchase of the famed MCI desk, which was installed at their New York studio.

Many years and gear acquisitions later, Evan is now based in Nashville, and continues to co-helm Five & Dime while caretaking and stewarding its musical output.
